Lodging Q&A
No, though we are a Trans and Queer-centered space we host a diverse crowd of people who are either in the community or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. If you do not consider yourself to be a safe ally, this is not the space for you.
No, no space is 100% safe for everyone 100% of the time - On the other hand, here at the Railyard we intentionally cultivate a community of intersectional values, vision and mutual respect in order to create a safer space. We take the time to lay rules and expectations for incoming guests before arrival, have written signage and give oral orientations to guests when they arrive. Our staff is well trained and are dedicated to protecting the dignity and comfort of each and every guest. Our Monthly Members, who have the most access to the space, are vetted during the application process and are held to a high standard of conduct. Though we cannot guarantee that each person you meet will rise to your personal standard of safety, we can say that as a public business we have gone above and beyond the normal to create a space of enthusiastic inclusiveness and have an expectation of our guests to uphold the Vision and Values of The Railyard during their stay with us. If any one person is found breaking the rules or guidelines during their visit, they will be removed from the space immediately without refund and are subject to a temporary or permanent ban.
Though we welcome anyone who is enthusiastic about or rules and guidelines, we are not a swinger space, as we have very strict no-cruising or sexual activity policies in common areas, including private cabana rentals.
Our pool does not have a lifeguard and all guest understand they swim at their own risk. Our staff is always available and monitor the space for policy violations or unsafe behavior as well as the potential needs of our guest. All guest must check in upon arrival and gate access is through a unique generated code given only after booking pool time. This is business open to the public. All guest are responsible for their own space and wellbeing. If you feel someone is violating the code of conduct of the space it is your responsibility to bring it to a staff member to address.
As a bed and breakfast our home is not required to meet ADA standards like a hotel would. We feel that whenever possible it's every business owners responsibility to try and meet those requirements. The entryway and walkways have been widened to allow full access to the courtyard for mobility disabled guest. Our outdoor showers and bathrooms are ADA compliant and we have a powered pool lift to help entry and exiting the pool. While all doors to units are 36" wide we now have a ADA specific unit. The Couchette room has a large hallway, lowered bed, rollin shower with wall mounted seat, and grab bars throughout. We plan to continue expand our space to meet all the needs of our disabled guests. More to come!
There are two cameras located on the outside of the property facing away from the property. There are no cameras inside the property walls nor are guest allowed to take pictures during normal business hours. Depending on the event or private space rental cameras may be allowed such as a photo booth or backdrop. Please see event details and or contact the producers for more detail. Railyard events that may allow open photography will always note a disclaimer on the event page and require a waiver upon purchase of ticket or entry.
